Our Story
- Skopii began with a problem: the routine task of identifying, counting, and measuring microscopic particles like cells is tedious and time consuming. At face value, this problem seemed to be an ideal candidate for automation.
- This wasn't a novel idea - it'd been automated before. The trouble was, the financial cost of automation was towering. This not only posed a massive barrier to access, but also presented a compelling opportunity cost - what more could we do with $100k?
- So we set out to see if we could do better: keep all the perks of automation, but design the solution in such a way that it would be much more financially accessible. From these design constraints emerged ARTiMiS.
- Automated sample processing is great, but manually sifting through digital images is still tedious. To automate the complete workflow from raw sample to interpretable results, we're developing a world-class analytical software suite making best use of modern computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning technologies.
- While these solutions have been immensely helpful to our own research, it has felt a disservice to keep these products to ourselves. So, we founded Skopii with the mission of helping others with solutions that are full-featured, yet affordable; powerful, yet easy to use.
